Description
The Falcon 351184 Microplate System is a specialized cell culture insert system designed for permeability assays, migration studies, and co-culture experiments. This system features a 24-well format and includes a specially designed feeder tray (receiver plate) that allows for handling multiple inserts simultaneously.
The critical component of this system is the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) membrane at the base of the inserts. This membrane has a large pore size of 8.0 µm, which is specifically chosen for cell migration and invasion assays. Unlike smaller pores that only allow diffusion of molecules, 8.0 µm pores are large enough to allow cells to physically migrate through the membrane towards a chemoattractant in the lower chamber.
