HMF-000: F-12 Nutrient Mixtures Ham (Ham’s F-12) 1X Kaighn’s Modification with L-glutamine, 6 x 500 mL. A modified version of Ham’s F-12 medium, Ham’s F-12K (Kaighn’s) Medium was originally formulated for use with or without supplemental serum. Adding components like putrescine, thymidine, hypoxanthine, zinc, and higher levels of sodium pyruvate and amino acids than found in traditional media, can compensate for the lack of serum. Depending on the cell type cultured however, FBS and growth factors are often added to the medium. HMF-BBZ-5XM-000X6 contains 292 mg/L L-glutamine and 2500 mg/L sodium bicarbonate. The liquid medium should be stored at 2-8°C and stay away from direct sunlight.
