Description
The Aladin Enterprises Electrophoresis Gel Casting Tray is the central component used to mold agarose gels. It is designed to work as a “tape-free” or “leak-proof” casting system when used with its corresponding casting stand or end-gates. This casting tray is constructed from UV-transparent (UVT) acrylic. This allows researchers to place the gel directly on a UV transilluminator to view DNA bands without removing it from the tray. If the tray leaks, you can use standard laboratory labeling tape or autoclave tape across the open ends as a manual “dam” to cast the gel, a method that works for almost any horizontal tray.
