Ascorbic Acid, Reagent, ACS, is an organic compound that occurs naturally and has antioxidant properties. It is a form of vitamin C and is classed as a reductone and used as an antioxidant food additive. Other uses include reactant in photographic developer solutions, antioxidant in fluorescence microscopy to increase fluorescent signals and chemically retard dye photobleaching. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured Ascorbic Acid is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
