Calcium Carbonate, Low in Alkalis, Powder, ACS is a naturally found common substance in rocks and it is the main component of shells of marine organisms, snails, coal balls, pearls, and eggshells. Calcium carbonate causes a unique reaction with acids which upon contact with an acid produces carbon dioxide regardless of acid strength. As an ACS grade quality reagent, its chemical specifications are the de facto standards for chemicals used in many high-purity applications and typically designate the highest quality chemical available for laboratory use.
