Nonoxynol-9 is a poly(ethylene glycol) derivative and a hydroxypolyether that acts as a nonionic surfant. It can be seen within detergents, defoaming agents, emulsifiers, wetting agents, etc. In addition, Nonoxynol-9, otherwise known as the compound with 9 repeating ethoxy groups is defined as a spermatocide.
