Zinc Chloride, Granular, Reagent, ACS, is a colorless and hygroscopic chemical compound that is commonly used in the textile industry, as a metallurgical flux and in organic synthesis. It has the ability to dissolve starch and cellulose, as well as silk, and can be applied to fabric as a fireproofing agent. It the laboratory, it is used for its properties as a middle strength Lewis acid. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured compound is used as the quality standard against which other substances are grade and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
